Get Ready for Graduate Work

The health professions attract students with a variety of interests. Our pre-professional tracks can be paired with any major (though most commonly with biology, chemistry, exercise science, health science, or psychology). You'll work earning your undergraduate degree while also completing prerequisites for your chosen health profession.

Danielle's Story

We believe you need personalized experiences to help you to achieve your goals, ambitions and dreams. Our flexible curriculum and can-do atmosphere allow you to go above and beyond classroom learning to prepare for success. Danielle Howard '14 started as a Biology Major and went on to completed the Physician Assistant program at the University of Toledo. She now works as a PA at Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital within The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.

Preparing for a Medical Field

At a smaller school like Heidelberg, you'll get the individualized attention and opportunity that makes a difference. You'll work one-on-one with professors on research projects and experiments, travel to regional and national conferences, and have the opportunity to dissect a cadaver a rare opportunity for an undergraduate student.

Advising

All first-year students interested in a pre-professional track will be advised in our Owen Center for Teaching & Learning, and then during your sophomore year you'll work with our Pre-Health Professions Advisor. You'll receive support and guidance for scheduling your classes, searching for graduate programs, and preparing for entrance examinations like the MCAT and GRE.
