Library instruction sessions are a great way to help your students become better researchers. Sessions work best when students already understand their research assignment and have chosen a topic. Please submit requests at least one full week in advance.

Will students be familiar with the research assignment requirements? We suggest you introduce the assignment BEFORE the library instruction session, especially if it is a large research assignment.

Will students have selected their topics before they participate in the library instruction session?

Will you be present during library instruction? For best results, instructors who are present and engaged during the library session help students make connections to their assignments and/or learning outcomes.

Provide a copy of the assignment students will be working on at the time of the information literacy session. (This ensures that the session will be relevant to students.)
